Noah’s Ark CARES was registered as a society in 2005 with a clear vision: to reduce unnecessary culling of street dogs and cats in Singapore through humane and sustainable animal population management.

In 2016, we were awarded IPC (Institute of Public Character) status in recognition of our continued work in active stray sterilisation and management, especially on Jurong Island.

Today, we jointly manage around 120 animals at our shelter and continue to feed and care for about 200 free-roaming animals on Jurong Island. In addition, we now operate two units at The Animal Lodge, Sungei Tengah, mainly caring for older and unadoptable animals.

We do not euthanise animals because of age, space constraints or because they are no longer convenient. Euthanasia is only considered on veterinary advice, when keeping an animal alive would cause it greater suffering.

While rehoming is often the more visible side of animal rescue, Noah’s Ark CARES continues to focus on sterilisation. As we know, sterilisation is the most effective and responsible way to reduce stray animal populations over time.
